Campaign to stop the Russian Fertiliser Imports
From Russia without love
The challenge
Following the invasion of Ukraine, Europe moved to ban imports of Russian gas. However, Russian fertilisers continued to enter the EU market in significant volumes. These heavily subsidised, high-carbon products distorted competition, undermined European producers and posed a serious risk to the resilience of Europe’s food and agricultural value chain.
What we did
We designed and delivered a high-impact advocacy campaign supported by a dedicated online communications platform. The campaign combined clear policy messaging, compelling visuals and targeted outreach to raise awareness among decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Results
The campaign significantly increased visibility of the issue and generated strong engagement among policymakers and industry audiences. EU-level action has since been taken to curb the flow of Russian fertilisers contributing to the financing of the war in Ukraine.
