Positioning Cobalt as an essential material
The challenge
The Cobalt Institute needed a modern, user-friendly website that clearly communicates the value of cobalt and the organisation’s role across responsible sourcing, sustainability, health, and research. The previous platform no longer reflected the Institute’s strategic positioning and had to serve a wide range of audiences, from policymakers and industry stakeholders to researchers and the general public, while ensuring accessibility and ease of navigation.
What we did
We designed and developed a fully responsive website built around a clean, authoritative visual language aligned with the Institute’s brand. The new structure introduced intuitive navigation, clearer content pathways and improved information architecture to help users quickly access key resources. We integrated multimedia content, streamlined publication access, and implemented a robust content management system to enable efficient internal updates. Performance optimisation and mobile-first design principles ensured fast loading speeds and a seamless experience across all devices.
Results
The new website strengthened the Cobalt Institute’s digital presence and positioned it as a credible, transparent and forward-looking voice within the global cobalt value chain. User engagement increased, key information became more accessible, and the platform now serves as a central hub for policy communication, research dissemination and stakeholder engagement.
