The challenge
EGNOS is a vital European system that enhances the accuracy and reliability of satellite navigation, enabling aircraft to land safely without the need for costly ground-based infrastructure. While technically sophisticated and essential for aviation safety and regional connectivity, its role was not widely understood outside specialist circles. We were tasked with developing a concept that would clearly explain EGNOS and its real-world benefits to a broad, non-technical audience across Europe.
What we did
We created a fun, engaging and accessible animated video that translated complex satellite augmentation concepts into simple, relatable storytelling. Through clear visual metaphors, concise scripting and a narrative focused on everyday impact, the video explained how EGNOS improves positioning accuracy and safety. The format was designed to be easily adaptable into multiple languages, allowing EUSPA and national authorities to deploy it across diverse European audiences and communication channels.
Results
The video became a key outreach tool for EUSPA and national aviation authorities, supporting awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement and public education initiatives. It successfully bridged the gap between technical infrastructure and everyday relevance, helping to position EGNOS as a tangible and valuable component of Europe’s space and transport ecosystem.
