The challenge

Brussels policymaking is often perceived as distant from everyday European citizens. We worked with the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats to develop a concept that brought the conversation directly to communities across Europe, creating spaces for open engagement on a wide range of topics.

What we did

We organised events across Europe, from Carcassonne to Nyírbátor, and from Helsinki to Rome. The programme combined large-scale public gatherings with smaller, more intimate formats, all built around the same principle: giving citizens a voice, encouraging questions, and fostering constructive debate.

Results

Over a two-year period, we delivered more than a dozen events, welcoming thousands of in-person participants and tens of thousands online. Key citizen perspectives were consolidated into a joint declaration, which went on to become a centrepiece of the S&D programme.
