The challenge

European innovation is often discussed in abstract policy terms, while the real impact of regulatory complexity on innovators, consumers and competitiveness remains poorly understood. CCIA Europe needed a campaign that could cut through the noise, raise visibility of the need for regulatory simplification, and position the association as a constructive, consumer-first voice in the EU policy debate.

What we did

In cooperation with Edelman, Morris & Chapman designed and delivered a multi-channel policy communications campaign including:

  • Development of a unifying campaign concept spotlighting real European innovators and entrepreneurs
  • A high-visibility Out-of-Home campaign across the EU Quarter and Brussels Airport
  • Video testimonials capturing innovators’ first-hand experiences of regulatory barriers
  • A dedicated policy launch event bringing together policymakers, stakeholders and innovators
  • Social media amplification to extend reach and sustain momentum
  • Design and development of the campaign platform: https://www.unlock-innovation.eu/

All elements were designed to work together as a single narrative, combining visibility, credibility and accessibility.

Results

Unlock Innovation delivered a coherent, recognisable campaign that successfully bridged policy and people. It raised awareness of regulatory simplification among EU audiences, strengthened CCIA Europe’s positioning as a pragmatic and constructive stakeholder, and translated complex policy issues into clear, relatable stories grounded in real-world innovation.
